As beautiful as the pictures, very clean and secluded. In the middle of the jungle with a great ocean view. Contact with the owner went smoothly and Rodney picked us up at the restaurant on the highway to show us the way up. Parrots were flying all around and we saw many tiny red/blue frogs. Also tucans came on a tree very closeby. The splunge pool is very refreshing and luxurious. We had a romantic time and the tree house is absolutely beautiful with the wrap around porch. Recommend for couples especially, it is a very romantic luxe tree house

The Potoo is amazing!! Jake and Manuel are amazing hosts! They are very quick to respond to any question or needs. They will also help you schedule your excursions at no extra cost. The gardens are beautiful but the view from the actual house is breathtaking! The road up is a tad scary the first time. You definitely need 4x4 and I would plan to arrive in daylight! We will be back as soon as possible!

My husband and I loved staying here! Beautiful and secluded space, you can really get some of the most gorgeous mountain views especially at sunset. Highly recommend the addition of a massage- it was amazing and backed by jungle air and sounds is really wonderful. We would love to return next time, and I highly recommend ^^

These guys are amazing hosts and we had a wonderful stay. The team cares a ton about your experience and will attentive to anything you might need. The place is a gem and quite a rare find. The gorgeous villa brought from Bali combined with the rich tropical jungle surroundings and sounds is surreal. The view to the pacific coast is breathtaking and reading a book with a front row seat to watch a tropical rainstorm from the calm of our patio was something I’ll never forget. This place is ideal if you’re looking to escape from the noise into a peaceful retreat in a magical setting. Totally recommended, would stay again, the place and team are top notch.

Stay here. It will take your breath away. This tree house is secluded but not at all far from any restaurants or activities. We slept with the doors wide open every evening and woke up to the sunrise. Every morning we saw toucans, monkeys, huge blue iridescent butterflies, and two species of poison dart frog. The view here is unlike any I've ever seen. Jungle-top canopy straight to the Pacific. Manuel made our stay super comfortable. We will come back for sure, because it was magical and luxurious.

Absolutely incredible. We cold not have been happier with this experience. This property is stunning in its design, energy and integration into the natural setting within which it sits. The feeing of serenity the house offers was the exact reset we were looking for. The views are stunning, overlooking the jungle as it gives was to the ocean. The soundscape of the jungle that is ever-present is equally as therapeutic as the views. The drive in can be daunting at first go, it gets less so the more you do it. Day trips were easy to facilitate and the surrounding area and communities are amazing (Dominical, Nauyaca Waterfalls, Uvita, beaches, etc.). I wouldn't want to drive into the property after sundown (that daunting drive I mentioned earlier would not be fun at night) so we found that stocking up on groceries, staying in, cooking dinner and taking in the benefits of this incredible place was the best way to spend the evenings. Manuel, the location's manager, was great. He was warm and welcoming and on top of everything. You felt as though you were taken care of were anything to pop up (which it did not). Strongly advise anyone who would like to take some time to tuck themselves away reset amongst Costa Rica's natural backdrop to check this place out.

It was a dream staying in this jungle oasis at the start of our Costa Rican vacation. We got to wake up and fall asleep to the sounds of nature (even recorded the noise for an hour so we can listen to it when we get home). Manuel was beyond helpful and hospitable. He set us up with amazing surf lessons from a local (get Jordi from Mavi Surf if you can). Definitely make sure you have a 4WD vehicle because the drive is intense. Fun, but intense. Highly recommended and top notch views, even in the rainy season. Got to watch lightening storms over the ocean from the porch.

Staying in the treehouse was a highlight of our trip! We enjoyed every sunrise and sunset- the views are so much better in person, and we were able to see toucans, parrots, hawks, and other wildlife right from our porch each day. The caretaker, Manuel, was very helpful, and cooked us an amazing dinner on our last night. I definitely recommend a 4x4 car to get to and from the house, as the roads are steep and winding, but the views were worth the trip. Amazing experience!

This house is delightfully tucked away! Gorgeous views! We enjoyed watching toucans play just off deck. We were pleased with the book shelf and cribbage board. We have never stayed somewhere so unique and special before. Bring your groceries so you can stay and enjoy the space longer without having to leave to eat.

Wow! A truly incredible location, accommodation and service from Manual (the caretaker and your host on location) The view is so incredible I can’t even explain it in words. Everything that you need is supplied. We cooked most of our meals in the well stocked kitchen. (Who wouldn’t want to eat dinner overlooking the jungle!) There is no need for music or tv as the birds, frogs and other jungle creatures create your soundtrack for a peaceful evening. There are lots and lots of Tucans and many other birds to watch endlessly. It’s a long way up to the treehouse but worth each and every step. You need to come prepared as Potoo is secluded. There are two other homes on the sight and we heard some voices on occasion but never actually saw anyone. We will absolutely tell everyone we know about Potoo. Manual and staff do a tremendous job with all the little extra touches throughout. The plunge pool and massage table on the lower deck were just icing on the cake! Thank you. Pura vida.

I can't say enough good things about this home. The views from the balcony are truly breathtaking and the woodwork throughout the home was gorgeous. Having coffee in the morning on that balcony honestly felt like a religious experience. We were escorted up to the house by Manuel, which was really helpful because it's a trek up there, I would recommend a 4x4 vehicle. Manuel was also extremely helpful with booking excursions for us. We went snorkeling and white water rafting and he set them up for us, which was really helpful. It was the best place we stayed of our honeymoon and if we could do it all over again, we'd stay even longer.

The view was breathtaking, and the home was beyond amazing. We even had a local cat hang out with us for our stay. She would follow us on our hikes and lay with us while we stayed indoors. I would return to this rental for Manuel alone. Trust me, have him make you dinner and get to know him. He's an amazing guy and the home was far beyond our expectations.

This treehouse was absolutely amazing and was beyond our expectations. Before arrival, Manuel was wonderful with communication and working with us when our plans were changed unexpectedly. After arriving, we didn't ever want to leave the house! The house is beautiful, spacious, and has a spectacular view. We enjoyed having a full kitchen, comfy bed, outdoor shower (with warm water), plunge pool outside on the porch, and deck with gorgeous views where we spent much time tanning, reading, and just enjoying wine and conversation. Manuel made a wonderful breakfast for us as well as a delicious dinner (highly recommend booking meals that you can enjoy on your porch). The windows are a huge plus since they all have screens so you can still leave the shades open while not worrying about any tiny visitors coming in. All around, we would love to return, but for even longer and prepare to take everything up to the house with us so we do not have to leave. A 4x4 vehicle is probably needed to access the house, as others suggest, but the whole way up the mountain is gorgeous and prop best if done during daylight. The house had wifi that gave us no issues during our stay and the nearest market was prob about 15-20 min from the house

My husband and I kicked off our honeymoon in this glorious place and I have to admit, I wish we were going to be there to entire time! It exceeded all of our expectations. You will not be disappointed with this gorgeous space and break from the world. From the caretaker Manuel’s hospitality, feeling like you’re in the jungle, the wildlife (so many birds), beautiful space (especially the wraparound porch and spa deck), and amazing sunsets. We arrived after dark and just as we read in other reviews, the drive up the mountain was a bit of a bear, but thanks to Manuel we survived! And when we woke up in the morning and saw the view, it was completely worth the night trek! My only suggestion would be to grab some coffee and essentials before you head up if it’s after dark! We relaxed the first day and Manuel scheduled massages (highly recommended) and the next he scheduled us on a Catamaran out of Quepos and it was phenomenal. Pure Vida, all around!

The Potoo tree house is amazing! Literally, a once in a lifetime experience! We saw so more toucans during one night at the Potoo tree than the rest of our trip combined :) We loved it, and already decided that when we return to CR, the Potoo tree house will also be a must!

Miguel was a wonderful host. The house was spacious and had everything we needed during our stay. Dominical is beautiful and slightly more secluded than other tourist locations but still had access to restaurants, adventures, hikes and beaches. The space is beautiful. We especially enjoyed sipping our morning coffee as birds and butterflies buzzed around us.

A dream. The house is so gorgeous and the view is indescribable... a picture doesn’t do it justice. The bed is huge and very comfortable (quality sheets too!) The bathroom was clean and the shower is wonderful. The kitchen is equipped for your cooking needs (you won’t want to leave for dinner). Manuel was friendly and communicative. He offered to book tours for us but we just wanted to spend our time at the house and lounging on the beach. A few notes: Property access: When they say this house is not easy to get to, they are right. You need a good car because the road up is steep. You also must heed the warnings about the walk up from the parking area. You should be in fair condition to climb the stairs. Groceries: If you’re planning on doing a lot of cooking hit up a grocery store near Quepos or Uvita. The local grocery store is quite small and really only carries essentials. We wouldn’t hesitate staying again.

This was the most breathtaking place we have ever stayed. Manuel was so attentive and was available if we needed him. To find the meeting place, put the coordinates into (Hidden by Airbnb) maps AFTER you are in Costa Rica, also the WiFi device we got with our rental car was super helpful. You NEED a 4x4 to get up to the house. Seriously. The drive up there the first time was white knuckle (it gets easier), and it was extremely dark (bring a flashlight) since you are on a mountain with no light pollution from anywhere. There are also quite a few stairs you then have to climb (pack light), but once we reached the house, we looked up and the stars were unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Waking up to jungle and ocean and all the animals- we were practically living on a nature preserve. We saw more animals from the deck than most other places we went. On our last day there was a rustle in the trees and it turned out to be a white-faced capuchin monkey! One after another started to appear and before long there was an entire barrel of monkeys outside. We can’t wait to come back!

Love, love, loved my relaxing visit. Got up early each morning to enjoy a pot of coffee on the deck. Saw toucans & monkeys. Manuel is a great caretaker. Had an incredible massage on the lower deck! Cried when I had to leave after 4 days in this paradise. Book tours early, do not wait the day before, they fill fast!

Wow, this is outstanding! We were so sad when we had to leave, the house is unbelievable great! Had a little issue with the arrival but it was mostly our fault because we did not had internet connection to confirm our arrival at the meeting point. The house is luxurious and secluded, we saw Toucans in the trees around the house, sparkling clean, nice shower, comfortable bed and the view, woooow!

This is an amazing house. Beautiful design and location. The view on the forest and the ocean is breathtaking. Lots of wildlife too. We saw toucans, monkeys, hummingbirds... We were initially concerned by the lack of air conditioning but the house is designed for the air to flow and the nights are cool enough to keep the house at good temperature. The drive up their is challenging the first time but we got used to it. We still avoided driving it at night. Also the stairs to climb to the house will get you in shape. Most of all, Manuel is a great host. He booked us very good tours, gave us tips to go around, answered all questions very timely. And try him as a cook, he is a chef! We had wonderful dinners while enjoying a nice relaxing chat. We highly recommend this place.

We loved our stay at the Patoo House! The view was amazing to say the least. Awesome place to relax but also a wonderful location to stay active with the local Nauyaka Waterfalls, the beaches, the tours that Manuel can book for you, and the local places to eat. Manuel was exceptional to communicate with and helped us book a zip lining tour only 30-40 minute drive from the Patoo. We hiked the Nauyaka Falls which was one of the highlights of the trip. Make sure you get there early to beat the crowd and check out this site for more details (Website hidden by Airbnb) I was a little concerned that keeping bugs out of the house was going to be an issue but we had very few problems. We just had to ensure all the doors were closed to the house if we had lights on in the house when it was dark outside. We never got in the little pool at the house and the hike from the parking spot up the gravel trail to the house was a little tiring after going up and down several times a day. Overall awesome experience and would totally recommend the stay.

The treehouse was much more beautiful than can be captured in pictures. The forest surrounding it on all sides is teeming with tropical flora and fauna. The house itself is beautifully constructed and very clean. It's more spacious than we had anticipated and easily slept three adults. The drive up the mountain and the steps/path up to the house require skillful driving and good health/fitness but they are well worth it! It was great to feel so remote yet close to town. The view of the rain forest leading out to the Pacific Ocean was the greatest pay off of all. Manuel scheduled massages for us at the house and they were great, with the sound of the jungle as a backdrop. We loved this (Website hidden by Airbnb) of the best we've experienced by far!

Staying at Potoo Treehouse is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The setting is stunning, the house beautifully laid out, a wrap-around porch for looking at the ocean, and the wildlife and just relaxing. Staying there made our vacation absolutely magical. Manuel also helped us figure out activities in around Dominical making it all much easier for us. We loved everything about our stay and the house. We will be back!!!

Great place! We really enjoyed the incredible views this house offered. The hike up from the parking area to the house can be a bit tricky if there is a lot of rainfall. Ponchos during the wet season are a good idea. The only thing we wish the house had was at least some basic items for cooking like oil and salt and perhaps some fruits or eggs. We would highly recommend for anyone arriving to make a pit stop before and grab some take out or do a quick market run for the first night. If the house owner offered some basic food items for a fee, we would have definitely gotten I️t.

The treehouse is an awesome place to enjoy the nature, to relax and disconnect from the world. The stile is amazing. The bed is super comfortable and it was just WOW ... also thanks to the housekeeper for the very good tips!

This place is awesome. The view stunning. Go prepared. Take flashlights, food, and ways to entertain yourself. It's extremely remote and you won't want to drive out in the dark after you check in. Pay close attention while driving in(you'll follow the caretaker up). The road up is not for the faint of heart (make sure to have a 4X4) and isn't marked; you can easily make wrong turns (especially at night). My only disappointment was there was no mosquito netting over the bed. The pictures looked as if there was. I was eaten alive at night by mosquitoes. The house is open air, so expect company from random wildlife. Probably not the best place to stay if you're afraid of anything. If you want contact with nature, solitude, stunning views, and plenty of nearby opportunities for adventure then this place will deliver! Bottom line, it's exactly what we wanted and we would stay here again.

Pictures don't do this place justice. Every day there are several species of birds, toucans, frogs and more at your doorstep. The view is killer and the staff is very helpful & responsive. The place is super private. Be prepared with groceries as you won't ever want to leave!!

I highly reccomend staying here, it is absolutely gorgeous with views of water and the most amazing sunsets, all while secluded up in the trees. Expect noises at night from nearby wildlife. This was my favorite part of my trip to Costa Rica.

As the other reviewers, we were very satisfied with the lodge. Great view, nice caretaker, clean and beautiful lodge, 4WD mandatory. Flashlight is useful in case of power outage, as there is none.
